Six Flags Holiday in the Park

November 26, 2018

It is finally that time of year! The air is getting colder, the leaves are almost finished falling, holiday shopping is in full swing, and Six Flags Holiday in the Park is OPEN! We visited the park last Monday and it was fantastic! I have always wanted to check it out, and we finally had the perfect opportunity.

The park is completely magical from the moment you walk through the gate. There are lights twinkling every where you turn, smiling faces, and FUN! We have our 'favorite' rides.. we made sure we got those in of course... Batman in particular,    The Gotham City Crime Wave, Up, Up, & Away and a few others. Honestly, we might have a few new favorites to add to our lists though. The DC Super Hero area was my kiddos F.A.V.E! There is Wonder Woman Flight School..which was the absolute best in my 5 year old's eyes, Joker's Fun House, which I totally underestimated as a 'kid ride', and Super Man- Tower of Power, they all pitched a complete fit to ride that one more than once! We also all loved 'Justice League- Battle for Metropolis'. They give you 3D glasses and a laser gun to shoot the bad guys.. Just call me Wonder Woman, because I totally won for our ride, even beat out my husband by a few thousand points! We really wanted to ride the new Twisted Cyclone, but the line was too long and my littles were over it by the time we made it around to it.. about 7 hours after we first started! So that is on my ' to ride' list for our next visit! I really enjoyed all of the new additions. I have been to Six Flags Over Georgia so many times, but it made it feel like a new park to me. It was familiar, but exciting too!

Magical is probably an understatement when I think of how absolutely beautiful the park looks. There are SO many lights. Holiday music playing everywhere. Several photo ops, Christmas trees, Gingerbread cutouts, and holiday décor fill the park. The restaurants that we all know and love have been transformed Holiday style to match the rest of the park. My favorite part of the Holiday décor was 'A Georgia Christmas'. There are thousands of peach colored lights surrounding you.. and y 'all , I kept thinking to myself 'it even smells peachy', but didn't say anything until one of my kids mentioned it too. I don't know how they do it, but the yummiest peach scent fills the air! It's truly magnificent.

In the past, I have kind of shied away from visiting Holiday in the Park with kids, because of my concerns that it would be too cold, etc. The weather on Monday was perfection... literally light jacket weather. This was a huge plus for me because with kiddos (even the littlest, 6 month old went!), if its too hot or too frigid, no one enjoys the activity. There were several outdoor heaters around the park as well, so when it got dark, we could all huddle around those for a few minutes and warm up! My husband and I kept mentioning to each other how pleasant of an experience it was, how awesome the weather was, and how thankful we were that we weren't sweating while walking around the gigantic park. It was a fantastic time to visit!

We have decided that Six Flags Over Georgia Holiday in the Park is going to be a tradition for us.. we might even get back over there before the holiday season is over! Go visit today!!
